Training Information

ASU provides two kinds of training opportunities for research with tribal communities depending upon the type of engagement (note: both of these are optional) –

  1. If native peoples are the subjects or participants in the research (i.e, health or behavioral research), we recommend CITI training.  The CITI module can be taken as a part of the IRB course, or as a standalone; IRB – Native American Research. For more information, please visit https://researchintegrity.asu.edu/human-subjects/training
  2. If the research is a partnership with tribal communities, whereby tribal members are collaborators, co-investigators, or co-authors (and not the subjects of the research), you may attend a workshop by registering on Research Academy for the session titled – “Meaningful Research: Effectively Engaging with Tribal Communities and Working on Tribal Lands
